05a. List of the Deans of the Order of The Thistle

List of the Deans of the Most Ancient and Most Noble Order of the Thistle

The Dean is normally a cleric of the Church of Scotland. This office was not originally a part of the establishment of officers of the Order, it was created in 1763 and joined to the office of Dean of the Chapel Royal. The two offices were separated in 1969.
