SOURCE/NOTES & CREDITS: Blazon and some text background is from the Letters Patent of Wayne Joseph Morgan as recorded on page 30 of Volume 89 in the Public Register of All Arms and Bearings in Scotland on 15h September 2008. Text by D.Q. Wedvick is adapted from conversations with COL Morgan and culled from papers submitted to the Society of Scottish Armigers.

Colonel Wayne Joseph Morgan, AUS Ret., 1st Special Forces Regiment, was born in 1946 and has been accepted as the head-of-family of the Morgan Sept of the Clan Mackenzie by John Ruaridh Grant Mackenzie, 5th Earl of Cromartie – Chief of Clan MacKenzie. He grew up in the Army and two sons are SF and Infantry Lieutenant Colonels. US Army Special Forces are a verra small group of special operators, mainly known to each other. We have two retired Special Forces men as close friends and both know and served with COL Morgan in that unique and brave organization, during his 37+ years of commissioned service. He and his wife formerly lived in the mountains of western North Carolina, a veritable hotbed of Scottish-American activity. They now live near Charleston, South Carolina, an ostensibly more genteel locale.

COL Morgan holds the US Legion of Merit and other military decorations.
