Colonel Charles Houston Shaw, III, USA (Ret.) CPL was born in 1957, raised in Mississippi, and now lives in Northern Virginia with his wife Maria. Chuck is a graduate of the U.S. Military Academy (USMA) with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering who was commissioned as an Armor-Cavalry Officer, serving 24 years in the U.S. Army with tours in the United States, Europe, Middle East, and Latin America. He is also a graduate of the U.S. Naval Postgraduate School (NPS) with a M.S. in Operations Analysis and a Certified Professional Logistician (CPL).

Chuck’s civilian career includes 20 years in Defense industry including Technical Operations, Operations Research/ Systems Analysis (ORSA), Research and Development (R&D).

He’s worked at companies such as the Lockheed Martin (LM) Corporation, Stanford Research Institute (SRI) International, and Hensoldt Incorporated where he is currently Vice President.

Chuck petitioned Arms on behalf of his 4th Great Grandfather, John Henry Shaw, which were granted on the 40th page of the 93rd Volume, of the Public Register of All Arms and Bearings in Scotland on 27 February 2017 and he then matriculated those Arms with differencing and award of a Pennon for himself. His eldest son and heir apparent is Charles Justin Lee Shaw also of Virginia.
