The story behind these Arms begins with my great-great-great grandfather Tyree Glenn Dabney. Robin O. Blair, Lord Lyon, suggested that the island of Tyree was known for its beauty, with nice beaches and lush flora. The Arms reflect the blue of the sea, white beaches, and green landscape, capped by purple for the many wildflowers there. The next step was to put the purple on a pile suggesting a narrow valley or glen. So the Arms are a nice play on the name Tyree Glenn. The garbs of corn and scythe reflect his occupation as a farmer. The border marks that I am a second son of a first son, of a first son, of a fifth son, of a first son, of a third son.
