The Badge of Rothesay Herald.

The blazon of the badge is: Two fleurs-de-lys Gules surmounted of a three point label chequy Azure and Argent and ensigned of the Crown of Scotland Proper.

Sheriff George Way of Plean was appointed Rothesay Herald on 1 August 2024

The last person to hold the position of Rothesay Herald before Sheriff George Way of Plean was Liam Devlin. Before him was Sir Crispin Agnew of Lochnaw, Baronet, LVO, QC. Before him was Lt.-Col. Harold Andrew Balvaird Lawson, CVO, 1939-1985. An earlier recent notable holder of the office wase Lord Lyon Sir Francis James Grant, KCVO, 1898-1929

The office was created after 1398 when the dukedom of Rothesay was conferred on David, eldest son of King Robert II, on 28 April 1398. This was the first ducal creation ever granted in Scotland. The badge was devised by Sir Thomas Innes of Learney in 1952 and registered in July 1986.
