Must Have Book

This is a book every Scottish Armiger should own – to have and to hold in his/her library. The image is of the dust jacket from the First Edition of “Simple Heraldry” of 1953 then offered for 10/6 net. There have been many editions and reprints over the decades since, however as I write on 14 Jan 2024, First Editions are still to be had for under 30.00 $US.

The author Iain Moncrieffe of Easter Moncreiffe ( The celebrated Sir Iain Moncrieffe of that Ilk, Bt., CVO, Albany Herald ) and illustrated by the famous artist, Don Pottinger, LVO and Islay Herald, are both too well known not to have something of theirs in hand to cherish personally.
