Arms: Or a saltire Gules on a chief of the last a pale Argent charged of a cross engrailed Sable.

Elizabeth Ann Roads, LVO, OStJ, LLB, former Snawdoun Herald of Arms (2010-2021) at the Court of the Lord Lyon was appointed Assistant Secretary to the Order of the Thistle in 2008.

Mrs. Roads was appointed by H.M. the Queen to the position of Secretary of the Order of the Thistle on 1 Feb 2014.

Mrs. Elizabeth Ann Roads, née Bruce, was born in 1951, to Major James Bruce, MC and Mary Hope Sinclair, she married in 1983 Major Christopher G. W. Roads, TD and they have three children.

The last person before Mrs. Roads to hold the position of Secretary of the Order of the Thistle was former Lord Lyon, the late William David Hamilton Sellar, MVO, OStJ.
