Haddington, Viscount of 2

Arms: Azure issuant from the dexter side an arm vested Vert grasping a sword erect Argent, impaling a heart Gules, the point supporting an imperial crown Proper.

Augmentation of arms granted to Sir John Ramsay in 1600 by James VI for Ramsay’s assistance in the Gowrie House affair of 14 May 1600.

John Ramsay was knighted on the spot, then given this augmentation and then the estate of East Barns on 14 Nov 1600 out of the lands of Gowrie.
