Sir Winston Leonard Spencer-Churchill, KG ( 1874-1965) was a British politician, army officer, and author, who was Prime Minister of the United Kingdom from 1940 to 1945 and again from 1951 to 1955. As Prime Minister, Churchill led Britain to victory in the Second World War. He was then offered a dukedom but turned it down but eventually accepted becoming a Knight of the Garter. Sir Winston is so well known, we don’t feel the need to go further into his biography.

The artwork is a rendition of John Hamilton Gaylor
