It was exciting to learn John Paul Jones the American Naval officer was born and brought up in Scotland.

John Paul Jones (born John Paul; July 6, 1747 – July 18, 1792) was a Scottish-born American naval born in Kirkbean a Solway costal village in south western Scotland near the Irish Sea.

He was an officer who served in the Continental Navy during the American Revolutionary War. Often referred to as the “Father of the American Navy”, Jones is regarded by many as one of the greatest naval commanders in the military history of the United States.

Unfortunately we have not found any official record of Jones having arms in Scotland at least under the names of Jones or Paul. The Wikipedia article on Jones does have an armorial achievement for him but this needs further research to find out if its authentic.

The portrait is by Moreau Le Jeune circa. 1780
