Archdiocese of New York Latin: Archidiœcesis Neo-Eboracensis, the Archdiocese was a diocese erected in 1808 until 1850 when it was elevated to an archdiocese. From 1919 to 1983, the Archbishops of New York held the collateral position of Apostolic Vicar of the Military Vicariate of the United States. It was during this period that Cardinal Spellman served.

The arms of the Archdiocese are listed here as this was the archdiocese in which the Cardinal-Archbishop Spellman served.

The artwork is an interpretation of John Hamilton Gaylor.
