Arms: Argent on a saltire between in the flanks two maunches, the sinister contournee, Sable five mascles Or.

SOURCE, NOTES & CREDITS: Blazon to these arms taken from an entry made by Robin Orr Blair in the file on his arms in the Members Arms, the Heraldry Society of Scotland (HSS) website.

Robin Orr Blair was born in 1940 and served as Lord Lyon and as Secretary to the Order of the Thistle 2001-2007

Importantly he oversaw the installation of the records of the “Public Register of All Arms and Bearings in Scotland” onto a computer database in a format designed for ease of information extraction at Lyon Office. He was also kind enough to consider and allow us arms and happily allowed the design we submitted unchanged.

He was preceded as Lord Lyon by Sir Malcolm Rognvald Innes of Edingight, KCVO, WS, FSA Scot, Lord Lyon 1981-2001 and was succeeded as Lord Lyon in 2008 by William David Hamilton Sellar, MVO, FSA Scot, FR Hist, after which he was appointed Angus Herald Extraordinary. In 2001 he was elected a Fellow of the Society of Scottish Armigers. dqw 2013 0119
