Sir Francis George Windham Brooke of Summerton

Sir Francis is of interest because on Monday, 11 October 2021 he presented
Queen Elizabeth II a special memento on the occasion of her induction into the British Champions Series Hall of Fame for British Flat Racing.

The Queen became the first person to become a member of the Hall of Fame within the Special Contributor category, in recognition of her outstanding contribution to British Flat racing for something like 80 years.

Our question was: who is this Sir Francis Brooke, Bt.?

Sir Francis is Her Majesty’s Representative at Ascot, appt. by HM in 2017.

Sir Francis George Windham Brooke of Summerton, 4th Bt., was born in 1963 and succeded to the baronetcy in 1982 and he has an heir: George Francis Geoffrey Brooke, born 1991.

The Brooke Baronets of Summerton in Castleknock in the County of Dublin, Ireland, a creation of 1903. They are descended from the Brook Baronets of Colebrooke in the county of Fermanagh, Ulster, Northern Ireland, the 2nd creation of 1822 to the nephew of the 1st creation of 1764 which went extinct. The 5th Brooke Bt. of Colebrooke was created Viscount of Brookeborough a UK creation by Queen Elizabeth II in 1952.

The Baronetcies of Summerton, Colebrooke and Viscounty of Brookeborough are all extant.

The artwork is an intrepretation of John Hamilton Gayor.
