Alexander Ivan Bedini Guthrie of Guthrie, 22nd Chief of Clan Guthrie was born on 3 Oct 1967, the son of Conte Leonardo Bedini-Jacobini by Loetitia Dawn Phillips. His mother was the daughter of Capt. Mark Henry Phillips by his wife Moyra Irene Guthrie of Guthrie, 21st of that Ilk, daughter of COL Ivan Douglas Guthrie, MC of Guthrie Castle, Angus, 20th Chief, upon whose death the castle was sold. Alexander was educated in Italy and England, attended London Global University (UCL) and lived between Italy and the UK.

Alexander Ivan Bedini, upon changing his surname to Guthrie, inherited the chiefship from his grandmother who died on 3 June 1984.

Sadly, Alexander died on 23 Mar 2020, at age 52, in London, a victim of corona virus.
