David Charles Irvine, 26th of Drum, Chief of Clan Irvine, was born on 20 Jan 1939 and was the son of Lt. Col. Charles Francis Irvine, 25th of Drum and Irene Tyella Tennyson. He matriculated his arms on 25 Nov 1992 and was recognized by Lord Lyon Innes of Edingight as Chief of the name and arms of Irvine on the same day. David Irvine was a member of the Society of Scottish Armigers and will be sorely missed.

He lived in Aberdeenshire, Scotland. In 1964 Irvine married Carolyn Colbeck, daughter of Captain W. R. Colbeck. They have issue: two boys and a girl.

David Charles Irvine, 26th of Drum died on 10 Feb 2019, age 80, may he rest in peace.

Likely he will be succeeded by his eldest son Hugh Richard Irving of Drum, Younger.
