Maclaren Chief death notice

Maclaren Chief death notice
Sunday, July 23, 2023

It is with deep regret to inform you that Donald Maclaren of Maclaren and Achleskine, Convenor of the Standing Council of Scottish Chiefs, died last night Saturday, July 22, 2023

He had been participating at the Lochearnhead Games as chief of Clan Labhran yesterday.

Our deepest sympathy goes out to his widow Maida, and children Donald Og, Iona, Florian, Louis and Marina.

Should anyone wish to write to Maida her address is:
Madam Maclaren of Maclaren, Kirkton, Balquhidder, Lochearnhead, FK19 8PA.

One of the last photographs of Donald was at Lochearnhead Games, yesterday, having a dram.

Left to Right: Sir Malcolm MacGregor of MacGregor having a sip with Donald Maclaren of Maclaren. MacGregor had to leave just after. One hour later Donald had a heart attack.

Photo credit: This photo may have been taken by Hendrik Kappler one of the German MacGregors present at the Lochearnhead Games.
