An appreciation from Andrew Morrison, Viscount Dunrossil

It is with profound sadness that we report the death of Donald MacLaren of MacLaren and Achleskine, Chief of Clan Labhran, and Convenor of the Standing Council of Scottish Chiefs.
He died on Saturday, 22 July 2023. Donald was a much loved clan chief, who’d been chief since the age of 11. He was a former British diplomat and served as HM Ambassador to the country of Georgia, in Tbilisi, and was proud to have represented Scottish Universities at rugby when a student at Edinburgh. Donald’s quick wit and dedication to his heritage will be missed by many in the Scottish community, both at home and overseas.

We send our sincere condolences to his family.
