Michael Todd McAlpin, Sr. was born in 1952 in Opportunity, Washington, attended the University of Puget Sound, Tacoma, WA and Columbia University Senior Executive Program, New York City, NY. He worked for 37 years for the United Parcel Service (UPS) with varying responsibilities in operations and engineering in the US, Latin America, Canada, Europe, Middle east and Asia, retiring in 2008 as Vice President of Corporate Strategy. He resides in Alpharetta, GA and Winters, TX and is married with two children and four grandchildren.

Michael Todd McAlpin was elected to the Board of Governors of the Society of Scottish Armigers at the Annual General Meeting on 21 October 2017.

He was appointed Commander of the Name McAlpine by Lord Lyon Morrow on 19 April 2017 for a period of ten years. The commission may be viewed in the Album for Grants and Matriculations on this site.
