Peter Rodd. ) Authoress of many books including: “The Pursuit of Love”, 1945, “The Blessing”, 1951, “Noblesse Oblige”, 1956 and “The Sun King”, 1966. She was known for teasing and the comic in her books. She was the eldest daughter of David Bertram Ogilvy Freeman-Mitford , 2nd Baron Redesdale. and one of the Mitford sisters who lived high in the 1930’s

When we set up this Name that Lady, No. 7 Challenge we were not able to write the challenge tight enough to exclude any of her five sisters: Pamela, Diana, Unity Jessica and Deborah.

Secondly there is/was a Scottish connection of which I was made aware after the fact. Ld. Redesdale bought the fertile 55 hectare Island of Inch Kenneth (Innis Choinnich ) close by the Island of Mull in the Inner Hebrides in 1938. It ultimately came into the hands of Jessica Mitford who sold the island in 1967. The island remains in private hands to this day.

The artwork is an interpretation by John Hamilton Gaylor
