Subsequent to his appointment as the Lieutenant Governor of the Punjab Province in India in 1914, he was knighted as a Knight Commander of the Star of India and later made a Knight Grand Commander of the Indian Empire.

We are fortunate to possess the copy of this book once owned by King George V which he gave to his Scots gilly, William MacGregor on 5 Oct 1927…

Sir Michael is a kissing cousin of ours as our maternal paternal family are O’ Dwyers from Co. Clare and Co. Tipperary in Ireland. Alternative spellings of O’Dwyer are Dwyer or O’Duiblir. dqw 2013 0921
