These are actually the arms of the Ramsay Baronets of Balmaine as the Admiral had never matriculated arms as he ought.

Admiral Sir Bertram Home Ramsay, KCB, KBE, MVO, DL born on 20 Jan 1883 & died 2 Jan 1945 age 61.
We follow the BBC News for the US & Canada, the UK and for Scotland because they appear to us as the most impartial news media.. Suddenly, Admiral Sir Bertram Ramsay has become interest to the BBC media.
This is with good reason actually, as a Vice -Admiral he masterminded the evacuation of Dunkirk rescuing more than 338,000 allied soldiers ! King George VI made him a KCB for this !
Later as Admiral he was the commander of the naval force for Operation Overlord, the ships under his command landed over 1,000,000 troops in France starting on D-Day, 6 June 1944. He was awarded the KBE for this ! Unfortunately, he was killed in an aeroplane crash on 2 January 1945. And then, he sort of went into obscurity as compared to other wartime leaders of the period..
Admiral Ramsay was a cadet of the Ramsay Baronets of Balmaine ( UK baronetcy of 1806 ) in the County of Kincardine, Scotland.
He descended from the 2nd Baronet through the third son, a Captain Francis Ramsay.
Captain Francis Ramsay’s eldest son was Brigadier William Alexander Ramsay.
Admiral Ramsay was the third son of the Brigadier.
Unfortunately, neither Admiral Ramsay, and his Immediate forbears, his father, and his grandfather ever matriculated arms from the arms of the second baronet. Had Admiral Ramsay petitioned the Lord Lyon Sir Francis Grant, we feel Sir Francis would have happily approved the matriculation.
Admiral Ramsay was married and had two sons. The elder moved to California, USA.
