HE Bishop Bernard Tissier de Mallerais was one of four bishops consecrated for the Society of St. Pius X (SSPX) by Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre and Bishop Antonio de Castro Mayer on 30 June 1988. Bishop Tissier traveled the world administering the sacraments of confirmation and ordination, along with preaching retreats and visiting SSPX chapels to provide pastoral care for the faithful. He was the author of “Marcel Lefebvre: the biography”.

He was born on 14 Sep 1945 and died on 8 Oct 2024, age 79, as a result of a fall.

The artwork is an interpretation of John Hamilton Gaylor.
