06a. March Pursuivant Extraordinary

March Pursuivant Extraordinary is Philips Tibbetts appointed on 1 September 2021

The most recent previous holder of this office was Sir Thomas Wolseley Haig, KCIE, CMG, CSI, CBE 1923-1927

The title of March Pursuivant first appeared in volume XIV, page 35 of the Exchequer Rolls of 1515. The Marches refers to those parts of Scotland and England on either side of the Border. This badge was designed by Snawdoun Herald, Elizabeth Roads, LVO and registered in 2013.

Tibbetts is also Honorary Vexillologist to the Court of the Lord Lyon since 2018. While by profession a Strategy Manager in the Aerospace Industry, he has developed a parallel career as Community Vexillologist to the Flag Instituteand is currently working with groups all over the United Kingdom in the development of community flags as instruments of social cohesion and local identy. Tibbetts is a trustee of the Flag Institute and a Fellow of the Society of Antiquaries in Scotland.
