Queen Elizabeth II has died

Today, 8 September 2022, Queen Elizabeth II has died, we believe around 1:30PM EDT. She was the longest-reigning monarch in the history of the British Isles.

The Queen was born on 21 April 1926 to then the Duke and Duchess of York ( later King George VI and Queen Elizabeth (later yet, the Queen Mother)).

Princess Elizabeth became Queen upon the death of her father, George VI, on 6 Feb 1952 at age 26. Since then, the Queen reigned fulfilling her vow of duty first for 70 years ! The Queen worked as best she could this year with her health failing. Just two days ago at her Castle of Balmoral she welcomed and appointed Liz Truss as the new Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, on 6 September…active to the end !

The artwork was painted just over a year ago to mark her 95th birthday, this wonderful interpretation of her arms in Scotland is used with the permission of the artist Mark D. Dennis.
