Bishop John Bertram Peterson, 4th Bishop of Manchester, NH, 1932-1944, was born on 15 Jul 1871 in Salem, MA, he was educated at St. Anselm’s College in Manchester, NH, and Catholic University of Paris, France and was Ordained on 15 Sep 1899 at Boston by Bhp Brady, Auxiliary Bhp of Boston. He became Rector of St. John’s Seminary, Brighton, MA, 1912-1926 and was appointed Auxiliary Bishop of Boston and Consecrated by Cardinal O’Connell, Abp of Boston, on 10 Nov 1927 assisted by Bhp Guertin of Manchester, NH. He was transferred to the See of Manchester, 13 May 1932. and installed on 14 July 1932. He was made an assistant at the pontifical throne on 16 March 1934. Bishop Peterson died on 15 March 1944, at age 73, with 17 years as a bishop and with 11 years, 10 months and 2 days as Bhp of Manchester. dqw 20080921
