Frank Joseph Caggiano was born on 29 March 1959 in Brooklyn, NY, he was ordained as a priest on 16 May 1987 by Bishop Francis Mugavero. He was raised to the rank of Papal Chaplain by Pope John Paul II in 2003. Pope Benedict appointed him Auxiliary Bishop of Brooklyn on 6 June 2006 and he was consecrated on 22 August 2007.

On 31 July, Pope Francis appointed Bishop Caggiano as Bishop of the Diocese of Bridgeport, CT.
