Gillem Lumsden of that Ilk – Chief of Clan Lumsden

Arms: Azure, on a chevron between three Mullets Or, a buckle of the First. Above the Shield are placed two Helms befitting his degree with Mantlings Azure doubled Or, and thereon are set for Crests, dexter issuant from a crest coronet Or a naked arm grasping a sword Proper and in an Escrol over the same this Motto “AMOR PATITUR MORAS” (for Lumsden of that Ilk) and sinister on a wreath of the Liveries an earne devouring a salmon Proper and in an Escrol over the same this Motto “BEWARE IN TYME” (for Lumsden of Blanerne), and on a Compartment below the Shield are set for Supporters dexter a wolf Argent and sinister a lion rampant Gules.

The Petitioner’s Crests are depicted in three compartments on a Standard four yards in length, the Crest for Lumsden of that Ilk being in the first and third compartment and the Crest for Lumsden of Blanerne being in the second compartment, which standard having rounded end is of these liveries per fess Or and Azure, having the Arms of the Petitioner in the hoist, wih this Motto “AMOR PATITUR MORAS” in letters Or upon two traverse bands Gules; and for his pinsel four feet long by two and a half feet high Or, the Crest of Lumsden of That Ilk within a strap Azure buckled and furnished Or with the Motto “AMOR PATITUR MORAS” in letters Or within a circlet Azure bearing the name and title “LUMSDEN OF THAT ILK” in letters Or and in the fly a sprig of hazel fructed Proper (being the plant badge of the Name of Lumsden) surmounted of an Escrol Azure bearing his slogan “A LUMSDEN” in letters Or.
