Sheen 2

The Vatican Congregation for the Causes of Saints promulgated a decree approving a miracle of the late Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen needed for beatification on 6 July 2019. Pope Francis approved the decision and Abp. Sheen is expected to be beautified in the Peoria, Ill. area on a date to be announced.

The miracle involved the unexplained recovery of James Fulton Engstrom, a baby boy born apparently stillborn and without a heartbeat for 61 minutes in September 2010. His parents Bonnie and Travis Engstrom of Goodfield, Ill. prayed to the late Abp. Sheen for his recovery which took place and today he is a normal healthy boy.

We hope and pray the beatification take place soon.
